IKERLAN Technological Research is a private non-profit organisation with a vocation for public service. It was set up in 1974 in the heart of what is today Mondragon Corporacion Cooperativa-MCC Spain’s sixth-largest corporation. IKERLAN collaborates with companies in product development, re-engineering processes and process improvement from analysis to implementation. Product development projects for its customer companies account for most of the work done by the Centre. More than 30 years of experience in combining and applying mechanics, electronics and computer science, make IKERLAN a centre of reference in the development of mechatronic products and technology transfer in communications technology. It has worked in different national and international projects, some of them oriented to the development of domestic energy management and DG integration, others concerned with the development of technology to improve the quality of service of domotic systems. During its more than 30 years experience, the Energy Unit and Power electronics and Control engineering Departments of IKERLAN have been working among others for the energy and electrical sector. IKERLAN has a wide experience in industrial and research projects focusing on the design and development of new power conditioning and power converter units for integration of renewable energy sources into the grid, for traction units of rail vehicles or for power quality devices. Besides IKERLAN has also worked in the process and product automation field and in the design and development of advanced and intelligent control algorithms for product performance improvement and energy efficiency optimization.
